Hexadecimal Table (0-255)

Full 0-255 hex, decimal, and binary lookup table — scan every byte value at once instead of converting one number at a time.

How to Read This Table

Each row is one byte value (0-255), shown in all three bases side by side. The hex column matches how the value is usually written in code (with a 0x prefix, uppercase digits); the binary column is padded to a full 8 bits so every row lines up.

Where This Table Actually Comes Up

Reading a Hex Dump

Scanning a raw byte dump is faster when you can cross-reference several values at once against a table rather than converting each one individually.

0x4B, 0x65, 0x79 in a memory dump

Memorizing Common Byte Values

Frequently used values like 0x7F, 0x80, and 0xFF come up often enough in low-level work that having the full range visible at once helps them stick.

0x7F = 127, 0x80 = 128, 0xFF = 255

Checking Binary Patterns at a Glance

Seeing the binary column next to hex makes bit patterns (like powers of two, or all-1s bytes) easy to spot without converting each one by hand.

0x80 = 1000 0000 (bit 7 only)

Limitations

  • Covers single-byte values (0-255) only — for larger numbers, use the Hex to Decimal or Hex to Binary converters directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this table stop at 255?

255 (0xFF) is the largest value a single byte can hold — this covers the full range of one byte, the unit most hex tables and hex dumps are organized around.

When should I use this table instead of a calculator?

When you need to scan a whole range at once — checking several byte values in a row, or getting a feel for how hex, decimal, and binary line up — rather than converting a single number.

Is there a faster way to find one specific value?

Use your browser's find-in-page (Ctrl+F / Cmd+F) and search for the hex, decimal, or binary value you're looking for — faster than scrolling for a single lookup.

Why is the binary column always 8 digits?

It's padded with leading zeros to a full byte (8 bits) for every row, so the columns stay visually aligned and each row represents exactly one byte, even for small values like 0x01.
