Editorial Guidelines
This page explains how content on Hex Calculator gets made and checked — the same standard applies whether a page was drafted by hand or with tooling, and whether it's a calculator, an explanation, or a guest article.
Accuracy Standards
Every worked example is checked by hand against the underlying formula before it goes live — not generated and assumed correct. The calculation engine itself is exercised through automated type-checking and build verification on every change. See the Methodology page for exactly how each conversion is computed.
Research and Sourcing
Technical claims are checked against primary sources where one exists — RFC 4648 for Base32/Base64 encoding, official language documentation for programming-language literal syntax, and published standards for checksum and CRC algorithms. Approximate results (Pantone, RAL, and similar color-matching tools) are explicitly labeled as approximations, not certified matches.
Correction Policy
If a calculator produces a wrong result or a page states something incorrectly, it gets fixed — corrections to factual or calculation errors aren't made silently; substantive fixes are treated as real bugs, not quietly edited away. Report an issue via the Contact page with the exact input and the output you expected.
Content Independence
Editorial content is never influenced by payment. Sponsored placements are clearly labeled and kept separate from calculator pages and independent explanations — see the Advertise page for the disclosure policy that governs any paid content.
Tooling Disclosure
Parts of this site's code and content are built with the help of AI-assisted development tools, directed and reviewed by Swapnil Sanghvi. Every calculation, formula, and technical claim is still verified against the rules described above regardless of how a page was drafted — tooling changes how content gets built, not whether it's checked.
Update & Review Cadence
Hexadecimal math doesn't change — 1F converts to 31 permanently — so pages aren't stamped with artificial "updated" dates just to look fresh. Pages are revisited when the underlying calculation engine changes, when a reader reports an issue, or when new tools are added to a category.
